The Minnesota Wild are adding a pro-ready defenseman for the stretch run. On Monday, they agreed on terms with Christian Folin, 23 years old and one of the top college free agents on Renell Wren Jersey the market.
The move was first reported by ESPN The Magazine’s Craig Custance.
Folin, who previously played in Sweden, just finished his sophomore year with UMa s-Lowell. While he projects as a third-pairing guy, he’s ready to play immediately. Here’s part of a scouting report from Chris Peters, who’s as good an authority on NCAA Carl Lawson Jersey players as any:
Folin has good size and strength. His mobility and footwork are sound and make him tough to get around. He battles well enough around the walls, though I think most teams would like to see him be a bit more punishing with his frame. Folin certainly doesnt shy away from contact and every once in a while hes good for a big hit. His puck-moving ability is solid, but I think its his patience with the puck that really makes him effective. Additionally, his poise defensively and with the Ja’Marr Chase Jersey puck on his stick is what makes him an attractive option for the pro game. There is no panic in him, regardle s of competition and he often sees teams top lines.

Folin can do a little of everything but other than his physical game he doesnt stand out in a ton of areas. Hes big, strong and hits so physically even for a college player he should make the physical transition to the pros somewhat easily.
Were he to step in right away with the Wild, he’d likely take minutes from Jonathon Blum, Nate Pro ser and/or Clayton Stoner. At the moment, Minnesota holds the first wild card spot in the Western Conference and projects to play Jonah Williams Jersey the Anaheim Ducks in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
