The future of UConn’s football program became a little clearer on Friday.According to an announcement from the school, the Huskies Marquis Haynes Jersey ‚ football team will becomean independent FBSprogram after the 2019 season. They have gone 18-55 over six years in the AAC, including 11-37 in conference play.MORE: UConn and the American Athletic Conference also agreed to a deal regarding the Huskies‘ departure to the BIg East. The Huskies will pay an exit fee of $17 million in order to join the Big East starting in the 2020 season. UConnwill join the conference in all sports except football, men’s and women’s ice hockey and rowing.
